A new educational insight

Today I had an interesting experience.
I participated in a greet book launching event.
The book that I refer to is Howard Gardner's "Five Minds of the Future", an inspiring work sharing well structured ideas about how we shall "think" in the future times. The book is an interesting view of the "minds" that we have to educate for the future to our students/trainees...

These "minds" are:
- The Disciplinary Mind: the mastery of major schools of thought, including science, mathematics, and history, and of at least one professional craft.
- The Synthesizing Mind: the ability to integrate ideas from different disciplines or spheres into a coherent whole and to communicate that integration to others.
- The Creating Mind: the capacity to uncover and clarify new problems, questions and phenomena.
- The Respectful Mind: awareness of and appreciation for differences among human beings and human groups.
- The Ethical Mind: fulfillment of one's responsibilities as a worker and as a
citizen.

I consider that these are major values that will lead our future society: knowledge, innovation and social responsability.

The principle of responsability of the way we educate our future leaders in education, business and other major sectors is a sujbect to discuss.

Places and organizations.. people and habits, attitudes and believes... the diversity of the World.

Experiences change our life and we change ourselves by living it.

Informal education is an ongoing process of selfawarness. One process it or not. If not, it has no value. If so, it could change one's life.

Be aware!
Feel and analyse.
Think and analyse.
Act and analyse.

The most important changes are rising from decisions that you have analized as feelings, thoughts or actions.

Maybe some will wonder why I chose this title to define my life trough Education?

Is because this is how I imagine Education and life... growing like a tree... a small but lusty little tree, like a bonsai.

I would like to give Education a sense. A more powerful and healthful one, as I feel it.

What means Education for you?

I've searched on wikipedia and here is what I liked the most from what I found:

Education means 'to draw out', facilitating realisation of self-potential and latent talents of an individual.

I recently watched a video form ted.com about leaders and how to educate them.. and the best idea for me was that "The most empowering thing in life for people is to create.." and talking about Education I would add.. "to create value by investing in people that will create value.."

I have many plans regarding how to invest in people.. and there are some that I already achieved.. but there are many to come.. will you join me? :)

This is a selfmotivating experiment.

I want "to write history" and I feel that my potential is higher than what I'm using right now whitin myself.
I want that Education will become my daily emblem and I wish I can build as many trusty realities for the generations that come up to us.

I'm 25 years old. A quarter from a century, as I like to say. I have at least three friends that I can rely on to achieve what I've said, so I'm moving on.
I take with me everything I gathered till now [25 years of life experiences, 10 years of pedagogy, almost 6 years of professional experience working with people and at least 4 years of developing ideas and transform it into reality].

I take you all also - the ones that will read my ideas and will share theirs to me after.

See you on the way! It will be a long journey... full of valuable experiences.
